A Year of Hope, Healing, and Opportunity at Covenant
Sorry for such a delayed update about Covenant. We have been busy restoring lives and transforming generations for foster youth and their families. I promise we will be better at communicating.
This past year has been nothing short of extraordinary for Covenant and the young people and families we serve. With compassion at the center of every program and innovation guiding each step forward, Covenant continues to be a place where foster youth and former foster youth are met with hope, dignity, and unwavering support. Every day, lives are being restored and generations transformed through relationship‑based care, meaningful employment, and stable housing rooted in love.
At the heart of Covenant’s workforce development efforts is Covenant Coffee, a mission‑driven social enterprise creating real opportunities for foster youth and young adults to build skills, confidence, and career pathways. More than a job, Covenant Coffee provides a supportive employment environment where youth learn responsibility, teamwork, customer service, and leadership. Through hands‑on training and mentoring, young people gain not only a paycheck, but also a renewed sense of purpose and belief in their own potential. For many, this is their first experience of consistent employment combined with encouragement and accountability—an experience that can change the trajectory of a life.
Beyond employment, Covenant Community Services delivers a comprehensive framework of care designed to meet youth exactly where they are. Stable housing is a cornerstone of that work. Through innovative housing models and individualized support, young people are provided safe spaces to heal, grow, and plan for their future.
One of these models is THP‑NMD (Transitional Housing Placement–Non‑Minor Dependent), which serves foster youth ages 18 to 21 who are transitioning into adulthood while still engaged in extended foster care. THP‑NMD offers more than housing; it provides structured case management, life skills development, educational support, and mentorship to help young adults navigate independence with stability and confidence.
Covenant also addresses the critical needs of “gap youth” through Building Blocks Transitional Housing, serving young people ages 18 to 21 who may not otherwise qualify for traditional support programs. Building Blocks fills a vital gap by offering housing paired with case management, mentoring, and practical life skills training—creating a bridge from crisis to self‑sufficiency for some of the most vulnerable young adults in the community.

For young people continuing their journey toward independence, THP‑Plus provides supportive housing and services for former foster youth ages 18 to 25. Participants receive consistent guidance through case management, counseling, and life skills classes focused on budgeting, education, employment, and healthy relationships. This extended support recognizes that healing and stability take time—and that no young person should have to navigate adulthood alone.

Across all programs, Covenant’s holistic approach shines through. Youth and families have access to counseling services that address trauma and mental health needs, mentorship that offers encouragement and role modeling, and life skills classes that equip participants for long‑term success. Case managers walk alongside each individual, helping set goals, remove barriers, and celebrate milestones along the way.
The impact is felt daily. Nearly 200 youth, children, and families are served each day through Covenant’s programs—each one a story of resilience, courage, and possibility. These are young people finding their footing, parents rebuilding their lives, and families discovering stability where once there was uncertainty.
